Convert HEIC to PNG Online

Turn iPhone HEIC and HEIF photos into lossless PNG files without uploading them. Add one image or a batch, convert locally in your browser, and download each PNG or collect all completed results in one ZIP archive.

How to use this tool

  1. 1

    Add HEIC or HEIF Photos

Choose photos from your device or drag them into the workspace. Files are checked by both their media type and .heic or .heif extension.

  2. 2

    Check the Conversion List

Review the filenames and sizes of the selected photos. Remove anything you do not want to convert, or add more HEIC files to the same batch.

  3. 3

    Convert the Images

Choose Convert to PNG and wait while the browser decodes each HEIC image and creates a lossless PNG copy. Your original files are not changed.

  4. 4

    Review Each Result

Check the output dimensions and compare the original and converted file sizes before downloading. PNG photo files can be considerably larger than HEIC.

  5. 5

    Download PNG or ZIP

Download one PNG at a time, or convert multiple photos and save every completed result in a single ZIP archive.

What it can do

Private Browser Conversion

HEIC decoding and PNG export happen on your device. Photos are not uploaded to TunerPage for processing.

Batch HEIC Conversion

Add several iPhone photos, convert them in one run, and collect the results without repeating the workflow for every image.

Lossless PNG Output

PNG uses lossless compression, so the exported pixels are not reduced by adjustable JPEG-style quality compression.

HEIC and HEIF Support

The picker accepts common .heic and .heif files, including files whose browsers do not provide a reliable MIME type.

Original Dimensions Preserved

The converter keeps the decoded image width and height instead of resizing the photo during format conversion.

Individual and ZIP Downloads

Save only the results you need or package multiple converted PNG images into a convenient ZIP file.

Useful for

  • Opening iPhone HEIC photos in software that supports PNG but not HEIC
  • Creating lossless working copies before graphic editing or annotation
  • Preparing HEIC screenshots, diagrams, or interface images for websites
  • Converting phone images for apps and workflows that specifically require PNG
  • Batch converting a folder of HEIF images without uploading private files
  • Keeping decoded pixel dimensions while changing the image container format

Limits to know

  • PNG files made from camera photos are often much larger than equivalent JPG files
  • Converting to PNG cannot restore detail that was already discarded when the HEIC image was created
  • Very large batches can use substantial browser memory and may take longer on mobile devices
  • Live Photos, depth maps, bursts, and other HEIC metadata are not preserved in the PNG output
  • The tool creates a converted copy and never edits or deletes the original HEIC file

Private browser processing

This tool runs locally in your browser. TunerPage does not upload the working file or text to its servers.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert HEIC to PNG?

Add one or more HEIC files and choose Convert to PNG. When processing finishes, download each PNG separately or use the ZIP option for a batch.

Are my HEIC photos uploaded?

No. The decoder and PNG export run inside your browser. TunerPage records only anonymous tool actions such as convert or download, never the photo contents or filenames.

Is PNG output lossless?

Yes. PNG uses lossless compression for the decoded image pixels. However, converting HEIC to PNG cannot recreate information that was not present in the HEIC source.

Why is the converted PNG larger than the HEIC file?

HEIC is designed to store photographs efficiently, while PNG preserves pixels with lossless compression. Detailed photographs therefore commonly produce much larger PNG files.

Does the converter keep the original resolution?

Yes. The decoded width and height are preserved. The tool changes the file format without intentionally resizing the image.

Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?

Yes. Add multiple files, convert the batch, then download results individually or together in a ZIP archive.

What happens to HEIC metadata and Live Photos?

The PNG contains the rendered still image. HEIC-specific data such as Live Photo video, depth information, bursts, and most metadata are not copied into the new file.

Should I convert HEIC to PNG or JPG?

Use PNG when lossless pixels or a PNG-only workflow matters. Use JPG for ordinary camera photos when broad compatibility and smaller file sizes are more important.
